Sound Designer/Supervising Sound Editor


Daniele Carli (Verona, 1978) is a Sound Designer, Film Composer, Director and Musician.
He is an highly creative and motivated sound artist with 5 years of experience in sound creation, editing and supervising of original audio content, with a background of 16 years in music and aptitude for organization and teamworking.

He is working collaboratively as Sound Designer and Supervising Sound Editor with the production companies Land Varied International of New York, Gruppo Alcuni of Treviso in co-production with RAI Fiction Italian National Television as with individual directors, involved in guerilla, cartoon, documentary, educational, narrative, sciencefiction and dramatic films, holding the roles of sound designer, sound editor, dialogue editor, foley artist, sound re-recording mixer and composer.
He recently worked on the film Red Hook Black (2011) by Luis Landivar (Land Varied International), on the cartoon tv serie Eppur Si Muove (2011) by Gruppo Alcuni and RAI Fiction; actually, he is working on Barry the Berry Bear and Abigail Ann (Land Varied International), the documentary Noise and he is engaged for next production of the feature Labours of (An)Other Solipsist (2012) by Niharika Negi, shot in Mumbai (India) and soon for a tv serie.

He began first music studies at the age of six, he obtained in 2000 the degree in Percussion Instruments at the Conservatory of Music "G. B. Martini" of Bologna and in 2006 the degree in Sound Design at the Italian Institute of Musical Technologies in Rome.
His professional and artistic grown starts with classic and contemporary music, attending after the degree in percussion instrument, the International Music Academy of Milan with David Searcy, first timpanist of the prestigious Teatro alla Scala Orchestra in Milan, abroad the Mozarteum Sommerakademie University in Salzburg with the renowed percussionist Peter Sadlo.
With the succeed of auditions and concours, he started work from 2001 as timpanist, percussionist with the most important symphony orchestras in Italy and abroad, as RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Arena of Verona, Verdi of Milan, Symphony Orchestra of Sanremo, Carlo Felice Theatre of Genoa, Tiroler Erl Orchestra in Austria; as drummer, latin-percussionist and vibraphonist attending the Euromeet Jazz Festival held by Saverio Tasca and Dave Samuels, in collaboration with the New School University of New York and working with many jazz, rock blues, funky, pop, latin and gospel ensembles and bands, as Venice Gospel Ensemble, the big band Thelonious Monk, Milva, Malecon, Amos Group, Sex Machine, playing in festivals and tournées in Italy, Germany, Austria, Russia, California.
Moreover, since 16 years he works as music professor, teaching drums, percussion, music theory and solfeggio, both privately and in secondary and private schools.

In parallel with music, he followed the study of the creation of timbres, ambiences, sound effects for the cinematic market, telling his creativity through the use and the manipulation of the sound. After the degree with full marks (100/100) in Sound Design, he started work on his personal projects "Ipazia, Invisible City" a sound story freely taken from the novel Invisible Cities of Calvino based only on sound and text, "Oneiric Bird Eye" short realized during the workshop he held at the Muv Festival in Florence, "White Clouds, Black Clouds" presented as open movie at the Lago Film Festival in Treviso, on his soundtrack for the 3D animation movie "Elephants Dream" made by Blender Foundation in Amsterdam. Thanks to his personal works screened in several festivals, not mentioned, as Creativity Festival in Florence, Sound City Festival in Rome and Human Right Film Festival in Los Angeles and by his website (www.danielecarli.com), he obtained reviews and work proposals that highlights him as upcoming artist.
